The Public Health Research Assistant will be responsible for recruiting and surveying transplant patients of different races by telephone and in person using a standardized coaching and survey computer program to increase successful completion of transplant evaluation and pursuit of living donor kidney transplant. The candidate will also track patient recruitment, manage patient remuneration, prepare educational materials and assist in meeting university regulations for human subjects research (IRB).


Required Skills:
  • Two years of previous research experience - as a paid research assistant or student
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Skill in maintaining research records and completing data/case report forms
  • Ability to accurately assess patients’ physical status and evaluate responses
  • Fluent in Spanish is highly desired
  • Prior experience with IRB, protocol development, conference abstracts, literature reviews, and lots of data entry.
