Pediatric Oncology Baylor

This well qualified research associate position with training (didactic and research experiences) in childhood cancer epidemiology and cancer prevention in a multi-disciplinary setting, with a strong foundation epidemiology, genetics, cancer biology, survivorship research, and cancer control. This team member will play a vital role in pediatric oncology and childhood cancer epidemiology group. Collects and documents research data. Maintains records for clinical study and regulatory documents. Recruits, advertises, and screens for research patients. Conducts patient interviews to evaluate patient eligibility in study. Enters study data into a computerized database or case report form. May schedule research subject appointments for tests and procedures, such as laboratory tests, and other studies specific for the research protocol. Retrieves and submits test results to appropriate party. Work with multiple hospital information systems such as EPIC, BRAIN, Access, and Excel databases. Reviews, assimilates, and organizes prospectively-collected clinical data and medical record/health information (retrospectively- collected clinical data).  Abstracts clinical data into electronic database. Performs routine statistical analyses for epidemiological studies. Attends and participates in regularly scheduled research staff meetings. Facilitates biospecimen collection for study participants. Requires Master's degree in a Basic Science. Experience in lieu of degree will not be accepted.  Requires directly related experience, typically as a Research Assistant, Research Technician or Postdoctoral Fellow/Associate, three to five years of directly related experience preferred.
