Primary responsibilities include:
The University, Department of Psychiatry, Neuroimmune Interactions in Depression, Addiction, and Pain (NIDAP) lab, seeks a full-time Research Assistant to support psychoneuroimmunology and neuroimaging research.
The primary activity of a Research Assistant (RA) is to support the academic research program in association with a faculty member and/or team.
The successful candidate will work with members and users of the NIDAP lab, supporting development and implementation of molecular and structural neuroimaging projects focused on determining the role of neuroimmune interactions in co-morbidity of depression, addiction, and pain. The RA will assist with all aspects of projects, including ongoing projects and those under development.
Duties will include assisting in development and implementation of protocols and analyses of biological, psychometric, and neuroimaging data.
The ideal candidate will be a future oriented, with a bachelor's of science degree and a strong desire to enter graduate/professional school in neuroscience or a closely related field. As such, the ideal candidate will be highly motivated to assist with writing abstracts and potentially with manuscripts and grant proposals depending on the level of scientific knowledge and writing skills. They will be expected to support research in neuroradiology and other areas of psychoneuroimmunology research.
Will have the opportunity to work with clinical and basic scientists from a range of disciplines including Psychology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, and related disciplines. Applicants are required to have a doctoral degree in medical physics, physics, bioengineering, chemistry, or related discipline.
Experience in analysis of structural MRI, as well as fMRI, perfusion and permeability measurements, diffusion-weighted imaging, and diffusion-tensor-imaging is required.

Organizational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or relevant experience in lieu of education. No experience is required with a Bachelor's degree. General Knowledge of research fields.
