The Department includes more than 50 full-time M.D. and research faculty, 27 residents, interns and fellows, 150 clinical faculty and 61 research and administrative staff. The Department of Orthopaedics currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Study Assistant (RA) for the Sarcoma Service in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. The RSA will perform varied support functions requiring knowledge and skills specific to clinical research studies in our practice. Most importantly, the RSA will gather and compile data. The RSA will assist with data entry of a large, bone and soft tissue cancer registry by extracting medical information from clinical records of research participants. Other duties may include: screening prospective study participants to determine eligibility according to research protocol entrance criteria; reviewing and explaining consent forms, questionnaires, and surveys with prospective subjects; answering participants’ questions regarding study protocol and notifying appropriate research personnel of problems or complications reported by subjects; preparing and mailing project questionnaires, tracking returns, and maintaining confidentiality of participant records; gathering, recording, organizing, transcribing and verifying the accuracy of research study data; setting up research database files; assisting in modifying data collection forms; and surveying and summarizing relevant literature. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
