| Position Description | This incumbent will be responsible for providing support of the research projects in the division of Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will assist Principal Investigator (PI), other investigators, and research staff in identifying potential research subjects, reviewing medical records, collecting, and processing any protocol required specimens according to the methods defined in the research protocols and established standards and practices. He or she is responsible for collecting research data; processing and organizing research samples for storage and shipping; labeling and recording specimens; operating simple lab equipment, such as a centrifuge; delivering specimens to other departments and other duties directed by the PI or division Clinical Research Manager. High school degree required; college degree preferred. Careful attention to detail, excellent organizational and computer skills required. Incumbent must be a team player at all levels. IRBresearch education. There is a rare chance requiring travel to a CHP satellite clinic. This position is located at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Lawrenceville. TB test and PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment. |
