Job Summary
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) Professional Research Assistant position at the Barbara Davis Center (BDC) for Childhood Diabetes in clinical research. The PRA will be responsible for recruiting and completing study visits, and following protocol guidelines for one or more clinical trials. Clinical trials will include randomized studies of new therapies for pediatric and young adult patients with type 1 diabetes. Studies may include pharmacokinetic studies and efficacy and safety studies. These studies are conducted over several months and in general recruit from patients previously seen at the Barbara Davis Center for type 1 diabetes. Study visits will include a combination of in person visits and phone contact with study participants.
Posting Description
The PRA will be responsible for recruiting and completing study visits.
The duties and responsiblities are:
1. Recruit and enroll study participants
2. Interview human participants participating in a clinical trial
3. Complete study visits
4. Record data results
5. Data entry
6. Obtain and process study samples
7. Track patient participation
8. Work with study sponsors and study monitors to ensure compliance with research standards
9. Abstract data from patient charts
10. Tabulate research data
11. Validate quality of data elements/data editing
12. Collaboration with PI and/or Senior PRA
13. Conduct literature searches.

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and abilities
Desired Qualifications
Phlebotomy skills or willingness to be trained strongly desired.
Experience processing research samples or willingness to be trained.
Previous work experience in clinical research or clinical setting preferred.
Knowledge of type 1 diabetes preferred
