Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Clinical Research Associate - Allergy

General Summary of Position Responsibility:
This position will be working with PIs in both the Division of Allergy/Immunology and Emergency Medicine on a Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute funded study titled Coordinating Healthcare Interventions to close Childhood Asthma Gaps in Outcomes (CHICAGO) Trial. This position will partner with the PIs as well as the Emergency Department research staff and a Community Health Worker to screen and enroll patients in the study, collect baseline data, and perform data entry. 

Essential Job Functions:
Coordinates reimbursement of subjects. 

Assists clinical research personnel in the implementation of clinical research studies. 

Assists in the recruitment of study subjects. 

Develops a relationship with study subjects. 

Collects specimens from subjects and processes specimens as instructed. 

Maintains inventory of supplies or equipment. 

Prepares lab kits and requisitions prior to visits. 

Records data on case report forms from source documents. Interprets data and extractions 

Conducts literature searches and assists with QA/QC procedures. 

Participates in research related conferences. 

Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree, in a related field preferred (undergraduate experience in research work desired) 

  • OR -
Minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical research assistant with increasing responsibility; has been or is capable of performing the majority of CRC I responsibilities. 

Current professional licensure (if applicable) 

Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
