| POSITION : Research Support Assistant Level II Grade 9 - Hourly $15.29/hr Time Commitment: Casual hours (6-10 hrs/week) DEPARTMENT : DIVISION OF GENDER, SEXUALITY & HEALTH DUTIES: The project focuses on implementing a sexual health and substance use intervention for youth (age 18-24) involved in the criminal justice system. The project will be conducted in downtown Brooklyn, NY. The Research Support Assistant will be responsible for recruiting interested youth to participate in the intervention through providing information about the program and answering questions about the program. EDUCATION : High-school graduate preferred TRAINING & EXPERIENCE : The applicant should be familiar with criminally involved youth and with Alternative Sentencing programs in New York State. The applicant must be knowledgeable about HIV/STI risks and substance use among adolescents and young adults and be comfortable discussing these issues. The following are also essential to this position: be able to memorize and present large amounts of information, take initiative, problem solve, and adhere to the study training and guidelines. Additional requirements include: excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
