Description of Duties:The Institute for Genomic Health and SUNY-Downstate Medical Center is recruiting a phlebotomist to serve as a Clinical Research Assistant for the Genomic Psychiatry Cohort studies and the Institute generally. The Clinical Research Assistant will – - assist in enrolling subjects into Institute studies through community engagement and recruitment - assist in consenting subjects and administering the screen instrument - perform venipuncture to collect blood samples from subjects - package and ship samples to the NIMH Repository or handle samples locally as directed and - perform related data entry Weekend work may be required for participation in health fairs, etc. but either the work week will be adjusted so that the total hours do not exceed 40 or overtime compensation will be provided.
Qualifications:Required: Phlebotomy/venipuncture certification Preferred:10+ years experience as a phlebotomist and professional experience at SUNY-Downstate and/or in its surrounding communities. Prefer bilingual+ speaker with fluency in language(s) relevant to Downstate’s surrounding communities
