CLINICAL RESEARCH COORD PSYCHIATRY. I Massachusetts General Hospital(MGH) - Boston, MA

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator with experience in psychological research to work on an ongoing longitudinal study of patient-related outcomes using parent- and clinician-completed rating scales, in addition to assisting with other research projects conducted by clinicians in the department. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in pursuing doctoral work in psychology and wants exposure to the process of conducting research and data analysis in the child mental health field.
The primary responsibilities for this position will include collecting, inputting, and organizing data, conducting analyses using statistical software, maintaining large datasets, reporting research study results, reviewing case records, performing literature reviews, and assisting in manuscript preparation. Additional responsibilities include preparing submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), supervising interns and Research Assistants, coordinating collaborative research projects and overseeing their implementation, and participating in discussions with fellow team members.
* A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science is required (psychology major preferred).

* Ability to work independently and self-manage their time
* Excellent command of the English language and writing skills
* High degree of motivation
* Several months experience with SPSS or other similar software
* Knowledge of the research process

Completion of courses on psychological research methods and statistical analysis are preferred. Prior experience as a research assistant analyzing and writing up empirical studies in psychology or psychiatry is preferred.
