Job SummaryDEPARTMENT OF RADIOLOGY
The Department of Radiology is one of the largest departments in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The mission of the Department includes research, teaching, and patient care. The Department operates across six sites in San Francisco. The UCSF School of Medicine has a contractual arrangement with the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) with respect to the medical services and research activities rendered at San Francisco General Hospital. The Department of Radiology provides radiographic services under the auspices of this negotiated contract. The contract is renewed on an annual basis, and provides for the administrative management and physician staffing of the department for the hospital. Academic faculty provide clinical coverage to SFGH, as well as supervision of the clinical training offered to residents, interns and medical students who rotate through the department on a regular basis. Major activities of the department include general Radiology, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine.

JOB OVERVIEW
The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Asst. CRC) will be assisting members of the Interventional Radiology and Neurointerventional Radiology faculty as well as the Coordinator of the Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Center of Excellence in establishing a clinical research program. The Asst. CRC will be responsible for assisting with preparation of human research protocols for submission to the UCSF Committee on Human Research. The individual will conduct patient interviews and obtained informed consent for approved research studies. The Asst. CRC will collect and maintain in an approved HIPAA-compliant database research data including, but not limited to: imaging data, clinical data, genetic test results, and patient interviews. The individual will perform relevant data analysis under supervision, prepare summaries of such analysis, and assist in manuscript and presentation preparation. The Asst. CRC will also assist with research grant application preparation as needed.

Required Qualifications• HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities
• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word
• Prior experience working in a laboratory setting
• Ability to familiarize self with and understand various research studies
• Ability to work with and communicate effectively with colleagues in Radiology, Neurosurgery, OHNS, Neurology, Pulmonology, GI, Pediatrics, Genetics, Cardiology, and other departments
• Ability to speak with patients about research studies and obtain informed consent
• Ability to use databases and perform basic statistical analyses

Preferred Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in a Science or a related field
• One year work-related experience in health care setting
• Ability to speak Spanish
