The UCSF Sports Medicine Center is a unique state-of-the-art facility designed to care for competitive athletes of all levels. The Center is the leading center for sports medicine education and research, focusing on knee, hip, elbow and shoulder clinical outcomes and basic science research.

JOB OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of a Clinical Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator (PI), the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (Assistant CRC) will perform entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of clinical studies, and may receive training and development to prepare and advance for journey-level work at the next level within the series. The key responsibilities of this position will be participant recruiting, participant interviews, data entry and participant follow-up. The Assistant CRC may also be responsible for the coordination of one or more single or multi-site, active or follow-up clinical trials; help prepare protocols for study initiation; help recruit, enroll, register, schedule and retain study subjects; assist research personnel to keep participants on study schedules; complete study forms to submit to sponsors and/or appropriate agencies; collect, enter and clean data into study databases, maintaining data quality; assist statistician with data analysis; assist with preparation of reports and tables; and attend team meetings.

Required Qualifications• HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities
• Experience working with patients or study subjects
• Experience in administrative analysis or operations research
• Basic knowledge computer skills in iRIS, FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
• Proven outstanding communication, analytical and organizational skills; demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Strong people skills, experience and credibility to motivate constitutes
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, & physicians
Preferred Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Social Science, Biology or related field
• Training/experience in the conduct of clinical research trials in an academic research environment
• Familiarity with UCSF processes and systems; experience and knowledge of CHR/IRB policy and procedure
• Basic knowledge computer skills with RedCap or other electronic large database
• Understanding inclusion/exclusion eligibility criteria for specific protocols, including demonstrated experience with accurate patient enrollment
• Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology
• Ability to abstract data from medical records and transfer it to data collection forms or directly into databases
