Position Summary

The Assistant Research Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of clinical research projects for the Male Reproductive Medicine. This position will work closely with physicians and research faculty to write IRBs, perform literature reviews, create/maintain databases, and write reports in preparation for publication. 


Position Activities
               
·         Assists in development of clinical research studies, including completing IRB applications, performing routine correspondence with IRB office, and Clinical Research Center (CRC), as required.

·         Prepares and implements surveys, performs retrospective cohort analyses and provides data collection for research studies.

·         Assists in the coordination of several research projects; assists with presentations and publication process.

·         Conducts scientific data analysis utilizing statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Excel) as needed.

·         Maintains correspondence needed for grants with collaborators, NIH.

·         Prepares consent forms and provides informed consent for research studies. Maintains HIPAA compliance for research studies.

·         Coordinates budget and execution with central administration and finance administration.

·         Works with WCMC office of grants and contracts on preparation/review and submission of industry contracts and sponsored research.

·         Maintains database of publications in preparation/submission to assure that appropriate IRBs have been obtained.

·         Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

 
Minimum Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience.

·         Knowledge of MS Access, descriptive statistics, utilizing protocols and IRB submissions.

·         Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).


Highly Desired Requirements

·         Experience in building/maintaining databases.

·         MPH in epidemiology or outcomes.

·         Expertise in conducting data analysis using statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Excel).

·         Background in Protection of Human Rights in Research including CITI training/certification.

·         Master’s degree with research experience.


Skill and Abilities

·         Effectively communicates with investigators, laboratory staff and residents.

·         Strong organizational and communication skills.

·         Core competencies include ability to analyze data, coordinate grants, assist with research budget & IRB submissions.
