	Job Description
	Summary: The Research Coordinator coordinates administrative and clinical aspects of multiple research projects. Responsibilities: Collaborates with primary investigator, sponsor and research staff to plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols. Monitors and reports on progress of projects. Assists with the recruitment, selection, scheduling, and monitoring of research project participants. Manages the handling of adverse events, compliance and other participant-related issues. Coordinates the preparation and delivery of departmental communications, presentations and marketing/educational materials. Collaborates to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Assists with responding to and preparing for audits. Participates in study protocol development. Prepares and presents IRB proposals.  Serves as a liaison between clinical setting and research investigators to ensure clear communication and study progress.  Ensures all research-involved staff complete required human subjects protection training.  Enters data into study specific databases.  Ensures data remains clean and coded appropriately.  Maintains impeccable study records. Maintains log tracking progress of all trauma related research studies and reports on progress to appropriate departments/groups.  Assists with finding and applying for research funding. Performs other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: Basic statistical training / experience is required.  Clinical research methods and design education is required. Two (2) years of research coordination experience is preferred, but will consider research experience and training during degree program.  Publication history is preferred, but not required.  Experience working in an academic health care setting  is preferred. Familiarity with local, state and national databases is preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred. Preferred Experience: Proficient skills in database management.  Ability to merge data from multiple datasets and formats.  Working knowledge of SQL and ACCESS
