Job Description
Summary:
The Research Coordinator coordinates administrative and clinical aspects of multiple research projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with primary investigator, sponsor and research staff to plan, conduct and evaluate project protocols.
  • Monitors and reports on progress of projects.
  • Assists with the recruitment, selection, scheduling, and monitoring of research project participants.
  • Manages the handling of adverse events, compliance and other participant-related issues.
  • Coordinates the preparation and delivery of departmental communications, presentations and marketing/educational materials.
  • Collaborates to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Assists with responding to and preparing for audits.
  • Participates in study protocol development. Prepares and presents IRB proposals. 
  • Serves as a liaison between clinical setting and research investigators to ensure clear communication and study progress. 
  • Ensures all research-involved staff complete required human subjects protection training. 
  • Enters data into study specific databases. 
  • Ensures data remains clean and coded appropriately.  Maintains impeccable study records.
  • Maintains log tracking progress of all trauma related research studies and reports on progress to appropriate departments/groups. 
  • Assists with finding and applying for research funding.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
  • Basic statistical training / experience is required. 
  • Clinical research methods and design education is required.
  • Two (2) years of research coordination experience is preferred, but will consider research experience and training during degree program. 
  • Publication history is preferred, but not required. 
  • Experience working in an academic health care setting  is preferred.
  • Familiarity with local, state and national databases is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Preferred Experience:
  • Proficient skills in database management.  Ability to merge data from multiple datasets and formats.
  •  Working knowledge of SQL and ACCESS
